CLEMENT BREBION est chercheur à la Copenhagen Business School depuis 2020 et associé au Centre d’Etudes de l’Emploi et du Travail
(CEET-CNAM). Ancien normalien à l’École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, il a reçu une thèse en économie à l’École d’Économie de Paris (PSE) en 2019 après avoir obtenu un master en
politiques sociales à la London School of Economics et un master en Économie à Paris School of Economics Ses principaux intérêts de recherche sont l'économie du travail,
l’économie de l’éducation et les relations professionnelles. Il étudie la manière dont les entreprises façonnent leurs comportements d'embauche et de
licenciement et fixent les salaires en fonction de leur environnement, en se concentrant sur trois sphères institutionnelles : l'assurance chômage, la formation en apprentissage et la négociation
collective. Ses travaux portent principalement sur les institutions françaises et allemandes.
Ses travaux sur l’apprentissage inclus plusieurs études de recherche publiés et en cours d’analyse. Il a notamment étudié l’impact de l’apprentissage du secondaire et du
supérieur sur l’insertion professionnelle en France et en Allemagne ainsi que l’impact des aides offertes aux employeurs d’apprentis sur l’embauche de jeunes en contrats
d’apprentissage.
Ses travaux les plus récents portent également sur l’impact des subventions à l’apprentissage sur les contrats standards (hors apprentissage) ainsi que l’effet des sites
internet de mise en relation entre candidats à l’apprentissage et entreprises susceptibles d’embaucher.
Ces travaux de recherche ont soulevé l’intérêt d’acteurs publics en France (Cour des Comptes (rapport 2022), DARES (plusieurs réunions de consultation), Ministère de l'Économie,
des Finances et de la Souveraineté industrielle et numérique (plusieurs réunions de consultation), Comité d’évaluation du plan France Relance (rapport 2021)) et à l’étranger (Productivity
Commission du Gouvernement Australien (rapport 2020)).
Les travaux de CLEMENT BREBION ont également été repris par des entreprises privées (Goldman Sachs London (rapport &
interview)) ainsi que dans la presse nationale (eg. Alternatives Économiques).

Clément Brébion has been a researcher at Copenhagen Business School since 2020 and associated with the Center for Employment and Labor Studies (CEET-CNAM). Former normalien at the Ecole Normale
Supérieure de Cachan, he received a thesis in economics at the Paris School of Economics (PSE) in 2019 after obtaining a master's degree in social policies at the London School of Economics and a
master's degree in Economy at PSE. His main research interests are labor economics, economics of education and industrial relations. It studies how firms shape their hiring and firing behaviors
and set wages based on their environment, focusing on three institutional spheres: unemployment insurance, apprenticeship training, and collective bargaining. His work focuses mainly on French
and German institutions.
His work on learning includes several research papers published and under review. In particular, he studied the impact of secondary and higher education apprenticeships on professional
integration in France and Germany, as well as the impact of the aid offered to employers of apprentices on the hiring of young people on apprenticeship contracts.
His most recent work focuses on the impact of apprenticeship subsidies on standard contracts (excluding apprenticeship) as well as the effect of websites connecting apprenticeship candidates with
companies likely to hire.
This research has aroused the interest of public actors in France (Cour des Comptes (2022 report), DARES (several consultation meetings), Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and
Digital Sovereignty (several meetings consultation), Evaluation Committee of the France Relance plan (2021 report)) and abroad (Productivity Commission of the Australian Government (2020
report)).
CLEMENT BREBION's work has also been taken up by private companies (Goldman Sachs London (report & interview)) as well as in the national press (eg Alternatives Economiques).
